Be Prepared for Meeting Email
Hi, Bill! I hope your summer is going well! This rain is just crazy! Planning is underway for the CG here. Another neighbor and garden enthusiast, Kim Hugill, has joined on as a co-planner. I updated the brochure and survey. Kim and I have gone to every house on the north side of our neighborhood, and now have to do the south (about 150 houses). We have been able to talk to to quite a few people, and we definitely have some interest in the garden! YAY! We also have been able to hear from the people on Shadowbrook which is the site down by the pool. As we guessed, they DO NOT want the garden in the green space. They like the grass there, and have other very valid reasons for not wanting the garden there. So, that leaves the city park as the most likely space for the garden, OR the less likely place of the shady area behind the pool (which we did not check out together). So, because it seems like the park is going to be the proposed site, I wanted to get you on board with this asap. Back in June, you advised me to go through you to make this happen, not parks and rec. We will have our first meeting on July 16th at 7pm here in the neighborhood if you want to attend, but also so I can be as prepared as possible for it. Can you get back to me with some info or thoughts before that date? Thanks, Bill! Amy

Email about Straders
Amy> Yesterday while visiting the STRADER'S store on King Ave I got to chatting with the manager, Andrea [super lady], and somehow, for an unknown reason, I told her about the pending developments re: you and the SH community garden. > So, Andre said to pass along the word to you that after you get rolling that you might contact her from some free distressed plants....for your project. Might be worthwhile to drop in on Andrea [she's off on Thursdays] and intro your self and discuss her willingness to donate some plants. Apparently she does, already, assist some other like-projects. > Yours for Good Gardening, > Bill Grant
